Reconciliation
RECONCILIATION
TO GOD - Scripture tells us that through Christ God is reconciling the world unto Himself, and that we are partners in that reconciliation process (2 Cor. 5:17-21). As such, we are commanded by Christ to "make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). Thus we seek to bring together people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and seeing them transformed by God's grace into new creations.
TO ISRAEL - We recognize the basic Biblical distinction between Israel and the Nations, and that the Christian faith was only made possible because God made a New Covenant (Jer. 31) with the Jewish people, allowing the nations to be adopted in as children of Abraham through faith (Gal. 3:29). Thus the apostle Paul warns us Gentiles not to be arrogant, remembering that our faith is built on theirs (Rom. 11:18ff). We recognize the role of the Jewish people in God's plans as a mystery, and plan to work toward the task of eliminating anti-semitism in the Church.
Since we as Gentiles have been joined by faith to the Commonwealth of Israel, we seek to be properly rooted therein, so that we bless the Jewish people, from whom Messiah came. Thus we desire to be properly alligned with the Jewish community in a relationship of mutual blessing as we reconnect to the Jewish roots of our Christian faith (Rom. 9-11; 15:27; Eph. 2:11ff; 3:6).
TO ONE ANOTHER - Regardless of race, culture, language or any other barrier, we are all sons of God through faith (Gal. 3:26ff) and members of the same household. Multi-cultural training, linguistics, tolerance education and inter-racial exposure are positive contributions to the cause of peace, but the best path toward peace is mutual submission to the Prince of Peace. There is nothing like seeing followers of Christ from diverse backgrounds coming together in worship to our King. In Him, our differences subside as we become one Body. Memphis is a city known for its racial division. We desire to network with other reconciliation ministries to reverse this curse and see God glorified in our unity.
